Eva Longoria is an American actor, producer, and director. She is best known for her Golden Globe-winning role in Desperate Housewives, and her debut role in the soap opera The Young and the Restless. She has appeared in several films, and also boasts a successful modeling career. She is regularly involved in social issue documentaries, serving as executive producer for Food Chains and The Harvest.

In 2006, Longoria founded Eva’s Heros, a charity helping developmentally disabled children. She has been involved with a long list of different charities and foundations, many focused on issues surrounding women and children. She also founded the Eva Longoria Foundation that aims to close the education gap affecting latinas as well as latino poverty. She is a dedicated philanthropist, and often her dedication transcends into the political realm to enact change via policy.
